The KLZX Morning Show

Friday Feelright is giving away concert tickets to the Rockin' Golf Concert. Also tickets to the Aggies first home game against Idaho State. Listen for your chance to win at 7:45 during "Fact or Bull Crap" and 8:45 with "Are You Smarter Than The DJ."

Feelright's "Poll" for Friday: When you were in school, what were you afraid of?

THE GREATEST "LIGHTER IN THE AIR" SONGS OF ALL TIME:
Zippo . . . the lighter company . . . conducted a poll to determine The Greatest Lighter-in-the-Air Songs of All Time. The top honors went to the epic QUEEN song "Bohemian Rhapsody", which received one-third, or 33%, of the vote.
--It was followed by LED ZEPPELIN'S "Stairway to Heaven" . . . with 15.7% of the vote . . . and MEAT LOAF'S "I Would Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)", which got 9.8%.

AXL ROSE TELLS A CROWD IN IRELAND TO STOP THROWING WATER BOTTLES
GUNS N' ROSES' European tour continues to SUCK and thoroughly disappoint fans.
(--Earlier this week, they were at least a half-hour late to two shows . . . and were then forced to end shows earlier than they wanted to because of curfews.)
--This time, chaos erupted at a show in Dublin, Ireland, on Wednesday night. As usual, Guns was late, and the show started over 90 minutes behind schedule.
--When they DID make it onstage, they couldn't even make it all the way through the first song, "Welcome to the Jungle", without an incident.
--Some upset fans were throwing water bottles onstage . . . and AXL ROSE stopped the band to tell the crowd, quote, "Here's the deal: One more bottle, we go home. It's up to you. We'd like to stay. We wanna have some fun.
--"If you don't wanna have fun, let us know. We got no problem, we'll go on our way."
--Three songs later, more bottles were thrown . . . and Axl stuck to his word. He said, quote, "OK, that's it. Good night. Have a nice evening." And the band walked off the stage.
--After the band left the stage . . . someone came out and tried to get the crowd to calm down. She said there were some, quote, "technical difficulties." But that actually seemed to incense the crowd more.
--Later someone else came onstage and told the crowd that they were trying hard to get Axl to return . . . but he asked them to quote, "refrain from throwing items at him."
--About an hour later, Guns finally went out and finished their set. Supposedly because the promoters refused to let them leave unless they did. But by then, most of the crowd had already left.
--It's unclear if refunds will be issued. According to some reports, a lot of people left because the lights were turned on and security told them the show was over.
--Afterwards the promoters bashed Axl for his habitual lateness . . . but did say that, quote, "no artist should be subjected to missiles and unknown substances being thrown at them."
THE ORIGINAL CELLIST FOR ELO WAS KILLED BY A GIANT BALE OF HAY:
MIKE EDWARDS, the original cello player for the ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA . . . or ELO if you prefer . . . was killed Friday afternoon when a giant bale of hay weighing more than half-a-ton rolled down a slope and crashed onto the roof of his van.
--It's not clear why the cylindrical hay bale . . . which weighed about 1,300 pounds . . . rolled down the steep hill. Police have questioned a farmer who was working on the field above the roadway.
--Edwards died instantly, but his van swerved and hit another car after the bale fell on it. No one else was injured.
--Police identified Edwards using photographs and YouTube footage. Over the weekend, they were trying to locate family, but he apparently didn't have many relatives. He was never married.
--Edwards . . . who was 62 . . . was with ELO when they were formed in 1972, but he quit the band in 1975 to become a Buddhist. He changed his name to Deva Pramada and made a living teaching the cello.
SCORPIONS ARE COMING BACK TO THE USA
The Scorpions are going to put off retirement for another year. They've announced that they'll return to the U.S in summer 2011 to play cities they didn't get a chance to hit this summer. The German band will start a South American tour this weekend and then will spend much of the fall playing shows in Europe.

EERIE PICTURES OF FAMOUS PEOPLE - #1: JULIA ROBERTS DOESN'T SHAVE HER PITS:
We saw some bikini pics of JULIA ROBERTS the other day, and they were quite nice. But that's only because her arms were down.
--Another bikini shot of Julia hit the web yesterday in which both her arms are over her head . . . and her pits look like MINI JUNGLES.

ROBERT PLANT WENT TO A ROCK CONCERT . . . AND HIS EARS "BLED FOR TWO DAYS":
It's common knowledge that . . . at the moment, at least . . . ROBERT PLANT is far more interested in performing with ALISON KRAUSS and his new incarnation of BAND OF JOY than he is in doing anything with LED ZEPPELIN.
--But a lot of people are hoping that he'll eventually cave in . . . and agree to do a Zeppelin reunion tour. (--And make an INSANE amount of money in the process.)
--If you are one of those people, you probably don't want to hear this: Robert is now saying that he can't even handle ATTENDING rock concerts anymore.
--He told a British newspaper that he went to a THEM CROOKED VULTURES gig . . . a band that features Zeppelin bassist JOHN PAUL JONES . . . and afterwards his ears, quote, "bled for two days."
--He added, quote, "I feel so far away from heavy rock now. It's quite odd, how mine and John's paths seem to have crossed over . . . we've sort of gone into each others' worlds a bit."
(--So apparently, John was into the kind of crap that Robert is all about now.)
--Here's more of Robert's brain to pick: He said, quote, "For me, it's no longer to do with vanity, ego and visible success. It's just about getting down into the earth of music. I've gone from being in that huge band to picking up the pieces of my own gift."
JULIA ROBERTS STILL LOOKS HOT IN A BIKINI:
JULIA ROBERTS is 42 . . . and her womb has played host to THREE babies. She had twins almost six years ago, and another kid three years ago. And yet she still has a pretty awesome bikini body.

CAMI PARKER FROM THE BUNNY RANCH
Cami Parker, August covergirl for Hustler Magizine, was Feelright's Morning Show guest. She said the animal she's most like is a cat because she has a nice kitty. Listen to here interview here:

GUNS N' ROSES WERE LATE FOR A FESTIVAL GIG IN BRITAIN . . . AND HAD THE POWER TURNED OFF ON THEM:
GUNS 'N ROSES are irritating Britain with their tardiness.
--On Friday night, Guns showed up an HOUR late to their gig at Britain's Reading Festival. Before they went on, the promoters warned them that they were dealing with a curfew, but apparently the band just ignored them.
--Guns were allowed to play 30 minutes past the curfew . . . but during their encore, when they were playing "Paradise City" . . . they had the power shut off on them.
--At that point, AXL ROSE pulled out a megaphone and blasted the promoters . . . and said that they would be canceling a gig that was scheduled for last night at Britain's Leeds festival, because it was being promoted by the same people.
--But as it turned out, Guns DID show at Leeds . . . a half-hour late, of course.
--When they came out for the encore at that show, Axl said, quote, "We would like to play a few more songs for you tonight. But someone is telling us the show's over. This war ain't over yet."
--Axl wrapped up his set, and told the crowd, quote, "Be safe getting out of here. And for the problems with the promoters, (eff) you."

WOMEN GET HOT FOR GOOD & PLENTY AND CUCUMBERS
Friday Judy Dutton was Feelright's guest during the KLZX Morning Show.  According to her new book, Secrets From The Sex Lab, women get revved up in a big way when they smell a combination of cucumbers and Good & Plenty. Sure, it's a weird combination, but it's scientifically proven to work.
When it comes to guys, pumpkin pie mixed with lavender is a big winner.
Judy Dutton discovered and reported on in her book Secrets from the Sex Lab is based on actual, honest-to-goodness clinical research -- and not urban myths.

A CHAOTIC, INFORMAL STEVEN TYLER AUTOGRAPH SESSION ENDED WITH A MEMBER OF HIS ENTOURAGE GETTING CHOKED . . . SORT OF:
All hell broke loose when AEROSMITH singer STEVEN TYLER arrived at the Trump Hotel in New York on Tuesday night.
--A crowd of people . . . including at least some paparazzi . . . had gathered and were demanding that Steven sign some autographs. It looked like he was willing to oblige, until things turned violent.
--Some shoving broke out . . . both with the "fans" and Steven's entourage . . . and it ended with someone apparently putting one of Steven's guys in a CHOKE HOLD.
--The situation was broken up, and hotel security escorted Steven inside.

(--There is video of this . . . but it's a little unclear what the "choking" thing was all about. When the guy got free, he didn't turn to try to retaliate against the guy who had him in the choke hold. At the very least, it's pure insanity.)
(--You can find the video below. The "choke hold" happens at around the 1:00 mark. )

BRET MICHAELS WILL HAVE HEART SURGERY IN JANUARY
Brett Michaels says he's feeling good, and he'll have surgery to fix the hole in his heart this January. (From "The Insider" on Tuesday, August 24, 2010.)

U2 HAVE DEBUTED A NEW SONG CALLED "EVERY BREAKING WAVE":
U2 are currently on tour in Europe . . . and at a show in Finland on Saturday, they debuted a new song called "Every Breaking Wave". After the performance, BONO said, quote, "No one has heard that before . . . including the two of us."
--The song was originally supposed to be on U2's last album, "No Line on the Horizon" . . . but at the last minute, it was kept off. It'll now be the first single off their next album, "Songs of Ascent". (--It doesn't have a release date yet.)
JOE PERRY DID *NOT* INTENTIONALLY PUSH STEVEN TYLER OFF A STAGE:
AEROSMITH singer STEVEN TYLER fell off the stage at a gig last week . . . after being hip-checked by guitarist JOE PERRY. Well, Joe says he did NOT knock him down ON PURPOSE.
--A rep for the band says, quote, "Joe wanted his fans to know he would never deliberately push Steven off the stage." The rep adds that Joe is a, quote, "total gentleman." (???)
(--The incident happened the night before rumors broke on the Internet . . . alleging that Steven's deal to judge "American Idol" was DONE. Unofficially.)

CHECK OUT THE BUTT IN THIS PICTURE FROM KIM KARDASHIAN'S 2011 CALENDAR:
KIM KARDASHIAN posted the June picture from her 2011 calendar on Twitter yesterday. Her face and her hair color don't really look like her, but there's no mistaking that backside.

STEVEN TYLER FALLS OFF STAGE AGAIN
Steven Tyler gave fans at Toronto's Air Canada Centre a fright over the weekend when he once again fell off the stage. Aerosmith was in the midst of their 1989 hit "Love in an Elevator" when Joe Perry reportedly backed into 62-year old frontman.
According to a report from the CBC, he was uninjured after landing on his feet and being helped immediately back on stage by fans. The band's last U.S. tour was cut short after Tyler fell off stage and incurred major injuries during a show in Sturgis, South Dakota, last August.
The band has also made recent headlines with the announcement that Tyler may accept a new job as a judge on American Idol. After hearing the news through media reports, Joe Perry said he was disappointed by the Tyler's lack of communication about the matter.
"I mean, after working with me for 40 years, he couldn't tell me about this," Perry told the Boston Globe. "Why so secretive? We're told it's a done deal. If Steven is committed to a TV show, that kind of affects the rest of us. We'd like to plan our lives, ya know?" (Here's a video of the first of the concert.  Tyler falls at 9:35.)

WARNER BROTHERS IS SUING A CONDOM BRAND CALLED "HARRY POPPER":
Warner Brothers has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against a Swiss condom brand called . . . HARRY POPPER.
--Warner Brothers says the name obviously sounds way too much like "Harry Potter" . . . and thus tarnishes the image of the franchise.
--And if that name weren't enough to infringe on the copyright, the Harry Popper logo is a condom that wears round glasses and holds a magic wand.

THE GUNS N' ROSES TOUR IS *NOT* CANCELED . . . AXL ROSE'S TWITTER WAS HACKED:
Someone hacked into AXL ROSE'S Twitter account on Sunday night . . . and "announced" that all upcoming GUNS N' ROSES shows had been CANCELED. It instructed all ticket holders to, quote, "contact your place of purchase for refunds."
--Obviously, that's not true.
(--Although it probably will be. Given Axl's history, this hacker was really just Tweeting the inevitable.)
--Guns N' Roses is scheduled to play at two U.K. music festivals later this month . . . and then begin a 24-date European tour, which will run through October.
SEVERAL POPULAR PINK FLOYD ALBUMS . . . INCLUDING "THE WALL" . . . ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE DIGITALLY:
Several popular PINK FLOYD albums . . . including "The Wall", "Animals", "The Final Cut" and "Wish You Were Here" . . . are NOT currently available digitally.
--Those albums . . . and other post-"Dark Side of the Moon" releases . . . have been pulled from places like iTunes and Amazon's MP3 store, over a contract issue.
--Basically, it boils down to this: EMI's contract to distribute that portion of the Pink Floyd catalog expired on June 30th.
(--Their earlier releases . . . from "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn" through "Dark Side of the Moon" . . . are still available.)
--For now, the pulled titles are still available on CD, but that's only because EMI has some existing backstock to blow through. According to reports, they will not be able to press new CD copies of those albums until a new contract is in place.
--The likelihood of that happening is unclear. Pink Floyd's management has been shopping the entire catalog to major labels for over a year. Right now, it sounds like their asking price is pretty ridiculous.
--Negotiations are still ongoing. (--You'd think Pink Floyd would work out something soon with EMI . . . or another label . . . because ROGER WATERS' new "Wall" tour kicks off on September 15th.)
Thursday August 11, 2010
THE ORIGINAL BLACK SABBATH MAY REUNITE, BUT NOT ANYTIME SOON:
OZZY OSBOURNE is considering reuniting the original BLACK SABBATH lineup . . . but he says, quote, "It's not going to happen for at least a year or two . . . because I've got my tour and an album to do."
--The other original members . . . guitarist TONY IOMMI, bassist GEEZER BUTLER, and drummer BILL WARD . . . last played with Ozzy at Black Sabbath's rock and roll hall of fame induction in early 2006.
--And they haven't released a studio album together since "Never Say Die!" in 1978.
--Ozzy and the rest of the band have had an up and down relationship recently, but Ozzy says he's spoken to all three of them recently . . . and thinks a reunion could happen.
--He says, quote, "I would absolutely love to do a [new,] really great, monumental Black Sabbath album. Whether we can, I don't know.
--"I won't do it without the other three. Black Sabbath is four guys as far as I'm concerned. We all depend on each other."
(--Iommi and Butler had been playing with one-time Sabbath singer RONNIE JAMES DIO in HEAVEN AND HELL . . . but he died of stomach cancer back in May. One-time Sabbath drummer VINNY APPICE was their drummer.)
VAN HALEN IS RECORDING A NEW ALBUM WITH DAVID LEE ROTH:
EDDIE and ALEX VAN HALEN have just announced that VAN HALEN is, quote, "currently in the studio recording an album with [DAVID LEE] ROTH that is due for release in 2011." (--There are no further details on the disc.)
--It'll be their first studio album since "Van Halen 3", which came out in 1998 and featured GARY CHERONE on vocals. The last studio album with DAVID LEE ROTH singing was "1984", which came out 26 years ago . . . in 1984, obviously.
--A tour may also be in the works. According to Billboard.com, a Live Nation executive has penciled a Van Halen tour into their plans for next year. (--Van Halen's reunion tour with Roth ended in 2008. It grossed more than $93 million.)
STILL NO BRAS FOR BRITNEY SPEARS:
Here's a status report on BRITNEY SPEARS: Still not wearing a bra. (--And here's a status report on ME: Still not complaining.) (!!!) (--Check out some pics . . .)

OZZY OSBOURNE THE PSYCHIC?

Ozzy Osbourne says he has psychic abilities and that he predicted Princess Diana's death weeks before she was killed in a car accident in Paris in 1997. He tells Britain's Sunday Times Magazine, "I remember when Princess Diana was still alive, I woke up one morning and said to my assistant, 'You know what? Something very bad's gonna happen to her.' And sure enough, days or weeks later, the tragedy in Paris happened ... [But] the fact is, if someone's living their life at 300 miles per hour, you don't have to be a clairvoyant to see what's coming."

REO SPEEDWAGON PLANS TO CELEBRATE THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF THEIR 1980 ALBUM "HI INFIDELITY":
REO SPEEDWAGON will spend the next year-and-a-half celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of "Hi Infidelity", which came out in November of 1980.
(--"Hi Infidelity" was REO Speedwagon's biggest album and featured their hits "Keep On Loving You" and "Take It On The Run". It was the top-selling rock album in 1981 . . . and has sold over nine million copies.)
--Singer KEVIN CRONIN says, quote, "This is 2010, so we're kind of celebrating 30 years since we recorded the album. Next year is 2011 . . . 30 years since 1981, the year that rocked our world.
--"The 'Hi Infidelity' record was such a turning point for us . . . It's just too special of a time to ignore, so I just decided for this anniversary I'm going to embrace it and go for it . . . we're milking it for everything it's worth!"
--The band will release a deluxe version of the album next year, which could include some original demos that were just found. (--There are no official details yet.)
--And there may also be a headlining tour . . . but nothing is set in stone.
(--REO Speedwagon is currently touring with PAT BENATAR.)
ARE THE CARS REUNITING?
Either THE CARS are planning to reunite for the first time since splitting up 23 years ago . . . or they're cruelly toying with their fans.
--A picture of the surviving members . . . singer RIC OCASEK, keyboardist GREG HAWKES, drummer DAVID ROBINSON and guitarist ELLIOT EASTON . . . has been posted on the band's Facebook page.
--It's a new picture of them together . . . in some recording studio . . . with their instruments. (--Here's the link . . .)

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=17835874246&v=wall#!/photo.php?pid=4345587&id=189146859928

--The "Boston Globe" caught up with Hawkes to ask him about the rumored reunion . . . and he said, quote, "I hate to be vague, but I really can't say. It's a crazy world." (--The Cars last recorded together in 1987.)
(--A FULL reunion is no longer possible because bassist BENJAMIN ORR . . . who sang several of the band's hits, including "Drive" . . . died of pancreatic cancer in 2000.)
(--Hawkes and Easton launched the "NEW CARS" five years ago . . . with TODD RUNDGREN taking Ric Ocasek's spot . . . but that didn't work out, and they shut it down after a year or so.)
THE CURRENT MEMBERS OF WARRANT WANT TO MAKE IT CLEAR THAT JANI LANE IS *NOT* PART OF THE BAND:
Yesterday, I told you that JANI LANE . . . who was the lead singer of WARRANT during their "Cherry Pie" years . . . is going to jail for 120 days after pleading no contest to a DUI.
--Well . . . the current members of Warrant would like to make it clear that they have NOTHING to do with Jani.
--They issued a statement saying, quote, "Please note that he is NOT the singer in Warrant. With the exception of a failed 11-show reunion in 2008 he has not been affiliated with Warrant in over seven years.
--"To all of the promoters and ticket holders for our upcoming shows, please know that Robert Mason, THE lead singer of Warrant, along with [the other] original band members will not be in jail and are ready to rock and roll as scheduled.
GUNS N' ROSES ANNOUNCED ITS FIRST, AND POSSIBLY ONLY, U.S. TOUR STOP:
GUNS N' ROSES just announced the first, and possibly only, U.S. stop for its Chinese Democracy tour. And, yes, based on everything we know about G n' R there are overwhelming odds it's going to be cancelled . . . but just in case, here it is.
--Guns n' Roses will be performing on August 13th in Sturgis, South Dakota, at the Rock n' Rev Festival that's part of the huge Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
--G n' R's Chinese Democracy tour has gone all over the world, but didn't have any U.S. dates planned . . . because the album "Chinese Democracy" did so poorly here.
